Level 3 Bikeability Success

Over two weeks a total of 50 pupils from Years 7 & 8 successfully completed the course.

This December, nationally qualified instructors from Cycle Experience returned to Upton High to provide another set of Bikeability Training sessions for students from Years 7 and 8.

The Bikeability Level 3 courses teach students the skills to tackle more challenging roads and traffic situations, including busier streets, queuing traffic, complex junctions and roundabouts.

Despite some harsh wintry weather conditions, our students showed great commitment and enthusiasm to take part and learn new skills. The instructors commended them on their good attitude and preparation (although a couple did forget to bring warm gloves!).

Over two weeks a total of 50 students completed the course and achieved Level 3! This not only means that they have learnt some important safety and confidence-boosting skills, but also that they are now on the school’s database of recognised roadworthy riders and can put their new skills to work and cycle to school at will.

Well done to all!
