Examination Results

Headline Data

Here at Upton-by-Chester High School we look to celebrate all forms of achievement.  One of the key measures of the school's success is the performance of learners in the end of Key Stage Four and end of Key Stage Five external examinations. In recent years, our learners have excelled in these external examinations.

KS4 2023 Headline Data

Under the stewardship of Head of Year Mrs Dey, our Year 11 learners achieved our strongest set of results in terms of progress. Our Progress 8 score is +0.4, meaning across our cohort of 278 learners, learners achieved 0.4 grades better than similar learners in all schools across the country.

The academic attainment and progress was across a broad range of subjects, from learners of all backgrounds.

72% of learners achieved standard passes in English and Maths, with 49% achieving a strong GCSE in both English and Maths.

In Triple Science over 70% of grades were grade 7 or above across all three disciplines.

57% of learners who undertook an English baccalaureate suite of subjects (English, Maths, Science, a Modern Foreign Language and a Humanity subject) achieved strong passes in those subjects, 81% achieving standard passes.
