Key Stage 4

GCSE learners follow the AQA English Language and Literature GCSE specification. The aim of the GCSE course is to enable learners to build on their Key Stage 3 knowledge and skills. 

Learners will be examined over four papers:

Language Paper 1 - Creative Reading and Writing ( 1 hour 45 minutes)

Language Paper 2 - Viewpoints and Perspectives ( 1 hour 45 minutes)

Literature paper 1 - Shakespeare and 19th Century text ( 1 hour 45 minutes)

Literature paper 2 - Modern Texts and Poetry ( 2 hours 15 minutes)
