Year 8

Year 8 is broken down into six units, exploring topics stretching from the medieval to the Georgian period. Learners are encouraged to consider how these units link together, in a central study of power and its application.

Learners will be provided with an overview of each unit taught in Year 8 in their exercise books.

Unit 1 – What should people in Britain know about slavery?

Unit 2 - How did the Industrial Revolution transform the lives of people in Chester?

Unit 3- How did Ordinary People achieve democracy?

Unit 4 – Were the British really absent-minded imperialists?

Unit 5 – How similar were the conflicts of WW1 and WW2?

Unit 6 – Had life changed for the better by 1918?
