Pop-Up Restaurant for Charity

Earlier last year, before lockdown, a group of our Year 11 learners, designed, planned and managed a 'pop up restaurant' with Chef Mark Lloyd.

They had over 100 guests in attendance. The learners had to finance the restaurant and then any profits were donated to charities of their choosing, the charities chosen were The Hospice of the Good Shepherd and Shelter.

The learners worked incredibly hard sourcing fabulous prizes for a raffle, provided entertainment and a bar. Learners were able to secure sponsors namely Morrisons who donated a £500 voucher for the ingredients and drinks, Manchester City Football club who donated memorabilia for the raffle including a signed football boot by Sergio Aguero, Chester Racecourse donated race day tickets and numerous city centre restaurants donated vouchers.

The School canteen was transformed into 1968, a restaurant celebrating the year the school opened. A great evening was enjoyed by all. Mrs Bradbury, Mr Rutter and Mrs Sievers had a fantastic time supporting the learners in helping the event run smoothly.

£1657.50 was raised for The Hospice of the Good Shepherd, with a donation also being made to Shelter in Chester.
