Headteacher's Message

Welcome to this week's edition of the Upton-by-Chester High School bulletin.

We have had another busy week this week at Upton-by-Chester High School. Learners have taken part in sporting fixtures, debate competitions, visits to local schools and theatre trips. We will share more details about their experiences and successes via our social media channels. There have also been several practical exams taking place in school and these will continue in the coming weeks for Drama, Dance, Hospitality and Catering, and Art.

You will see below that our annual Dance Show is approaching on Tuesday 25th March. This event provides the opportunity to see our wonderful learners in Years 7 to 11 showcasing their dance work. Tickets are available now via Scopay priced at £6, and we look forward to welcoming as many of you as possible to enjoy this event.

Wishing you all an enjoyable weekend.

Mr L Cummins

Debate Competition - Regional Final

On Tuesday this week, the school's debate teams competed at Wexham University in the regional final of the debate competition.

I am delighted that our Year 9 team won the competition and the Sixth Form team came a very close second! Huge congratulations to those learners involved.

More information, including some photographs from the event, will be shared in the next issue of the Upton Voice.

Credit for the Canteen

Please ensure that your child’s cashless catering account remains in credit by regularly checking and adding to their balance on Scopay.

A convenient way to do this may be to make use of the Monthly Billing feature on Scopay, which allows you to specify a set date that you wish a payment to be credited to your child’s account each month, topping up their balance to an amount set by yourself. However, please be aware that you must set a suitable amount that will meet your child’s catering needs and keep their account in credit for the full month, or it will go into deficit and you will receive notification emails requiring you to make additional top-up payments.
