Headteacher's Message

Good afternoon and welcome to this week's  bulletin.

Dance Show

As many of you will be aware, we hosted the annual Dance Concert this week.  It was a wonderful celebration of creativity with learners from Year 7 - Year 13 involved.  It has been wonderful to watch the learners 'grow' as performers as many of them have been involved in the show before, whilst also seeing so many Year 7's starting out on this journey.  Thank you for everyone who supported this event and made it such a wonderful evening.

Upton-by-Chester High School Celebrated Nationally for Outstanding Student Achievement

We are incredibly proud to share the news that Upton-by-Chester High School has received national recognition for the exceptional achievements of our learners in the 2024 GCSE examinations.

The school has been recognised by SSAT (The Schools, Students and Teachers Network) in their prestigious Educational Outcomes Awards, which highlight the highest-performing secondary schools across the country. Based on national data and Ofsted information, Upton-by-Chester High School has been placed in the top 20% of non-selective schools in England for student attainment at the end of Key Stage 4.

This is a fantastic achievement and a reflection of the hard work, resilience and commitment shown by our learners — supported every step of the way by our dedicated and talented staff team. It also speaks to the strength of our school community, and the vital role that parents and carers play in supporting our young people.

Sue Williamson, Chief Executive of SSAT, said:

“Congratulations to Upton-by-Chester High School on winning an SSAT Educational Outcomes Award. This success is down to the superb learning and teaching, outstanding support and inspirational leadership of staff. You have made a huge difference to the lives of the young people in your school. Thank you.”

We would like to echo those sentiments and thank all of our families for your ongoing support. We are so proud of our learners’ achievements and will continue to strive for excellence in everything we do.

Thank you for being part of our success.

I wish you all a wonderful weekend.

Mr L Cummins

These cards will be emailed to you direct by Tesco at around 8.00 a.m. on Friday 4th April.  If you cannot see the email in your Inbox please double-check your Junk Email and Clutter folders, just in case it has gone into one of them in error.
