Welcome to another week of the Upton-by-Chester High School parent / carer bulletin.
This week we saw the formal end of the examination series for Year 11 and Year 13. As I commented in last week's bulletin, I am confident that the vast majority of our learners have done everything that they can to ensure that they reach their potential. We look forward to seeing the learners collecting their results in August. Further details of this will be shared with parents and carers nearer to the time.
Next week we are focussed on welcoming our new Year 6 into Year 7 learners to the school. There will be two transition days and an evening for parents / carers, details of which have already been shared. This is always a really special time of the year when we welcome the next cohort of learners, many of whom will join us for the next seven years of their education.
This week we received the Social Impact Award (further details below). This is a reflection of the really positive work our learners do to effect social change. This is obviously driven by our mission statement that all learners are "learning to shape the future". We are really proud of the work that they have done, and I am sure they will continue to do. We also received recognition that learners participating in the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme have completed almost 4000 hours of volunteering work during the last 12 months. This is very impressive.
Over the last few weeks, we have been formulating our strategic priorities as a school for the next four years and looking at our key priorities for next year. These have, in part, been informed by your feedback following events and parents' evenings. Once we have finalised our priorities for the coming year, we will share them with you.
I hope you all have a wonderful weekend.
With very best wishes.
