Good afternoon and welcome to the latest issue of the Parent/ Carer Bulletin.
This week saw three fantastic performances of our KS3 production of Alice, held on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday evening. A large number of learners took part, both on stage and behind the scenes, and they wowed audiences with their energy, talent, and commitment. The show was a true celebration of creativity and teamwork, and we are incredibly proud of everyone involved. A huge thank you goes to the learners, the dedicated staff who supported them, and to parents and carers for your continued encouragement. Plans are already in motion for next year’s productions of Matilda and Macbeth, and we look forward to another year of inspiring drama.
Yesterday evening, we also celebrated a significant milestone with our Year 13 Prom. This event marked the end of a seven-year journey for many of our learners, and it was a joy to see them come together for a final celebration. The evening was full of laughter, pride, and shared memories — a fitting way to bring their time at Upton to a close, ahead of results day in August. We wish them all the very best for the exciting paths ahead.
Looking ahead, next week we will host our whole-school Sports Day — an important and eagerly anticipated event in our calendar. Learners in Years 7 and 8 should arrive at school in their PE kit and will remain in it for the day. Those competing in Years 9 and 10 may also wear their PE kit throughout the day. Please ensure that all learners still bring their usual equipment, as they will be attending lessons when not involved in events. We’re looking forward to a day of teamwork, effort, and school spirit.
Thank you as always for your continued support.
With very best wishes,
Mr L Cummins
