Headteacher's Message

Welcome to the latest edition of the Parent/ Carer Bulletin.

One of the real highlights this week has been the opportunity to meet so many of you as we began our programme of Information Evenings. This week, we were delighted to welcome both our Year 12 and Year 7 parents/carers. It was fantastic to see such large numbers attending on both evenings, which reflects the strong commitment you are making to your child’s education.

As I often say, it is the partnership between school, home, and the young person themselves that ensures they are happy and able to make the progress of which they are capable. For parents/carers who were not able to attend, you will shortly be able to access the materials on the school website and you will receive the links via email.

Next week we look forward to welcoming families of Year 10 learners for their information evening, and we are also hosting auditions for learners wanting to take part in the school productions early in 2026.

I hope you enjoy a restful weekend.

With very best wishes,

Mr L Cummins

Engage@upton Timetable

Engage@Upton Autumn Term 1

Dear Parents/Carers,

Please find linked below the Engage@Upton timetable for this half term, which begins the week commencing Monday 15th September. This timetable contains all the information for our extracurricular programme for this half term.

Each year group has its own timetable, showing the days, locations, teachers, and finishing times for each club. At the side of each timetable, you will find extra information that learners may need if they are attending certain clubs. All clubs are free to attend (except for the DofE and Sports Leaders programmes) and operate on a drop-in basis, so there is no need to sign up in advance.

In addition, a breakfast club runs each morning in the upper school canteen, where learners can purchase breakfast items between 8:00–8:30am. More information, including what's on offer and price lists, will be sent out shortly. Learners in receipt of free school meals are offered a free breakfast.

If you have any questions about the Engage@Upton programme, please don’t hesitate to contact me at downss@uptonhigh.co.uk.
