Cheshire Schools Book Award

A group of KS3 readers travelled to the Storyhouse yesterday for the Cheshire Schools Book Award celebration day, joining schools from all over the county.
Learners listened to inspiring talks from shortlisted authors Ashley Hickson-Lovence, Bea Fitzgerald and Nathanael Lessore. The authors talked about their childhoods and writing journeys, how reading can improve your life chances and how to be resilient to any setbacks in order to achieve your goals.
The visit was perfectly timed with the beginning of the Chester Literature Festival and the message to ‘Sit for Six’. Scientific research has proven that reading for just six minutes a day can reduce your stress levels by 60%!
