This year's cohort has achieved an exceptional set of results, with almost a third of grades awarded at A-A* and over 60% at A*-B continuing the school's tradition of strong academic performance. These results are a testament to the commitment, resilience and determination shown by learners over the past two years, supported every step of the way by their families and the staff at Upton-by-Chester High School.

Paul Lewis, Director of Key Stage Five, said: "It is always a privilege to celebrate our learners' success on results day. These outstanding outcomes are the product of hard work, resilience and ambition, and every learner should be immensely proud of what they have achieved.”

This year’s outstanding individual achievements include Yalinya Ekanayaka, who achieved 4 A*s. Menna Howells will go on to study Pharmacy at Cardiff University, while Rhys Owen and Henry Strowbridge will both study Computer Science at the University of Manchester; all three achieved an impressive 3 A*s.

Ksenia Mangan achieved a remarkable 2A*s plus an additional 3 A grades. Nathaniel Koshy achieved 2 A*s and an A, as did Ben Nelson who has secured his place at the University of Oxford to study English Language and Literature.

We are delighted that learners throughout our cohort have secured places at a wide range of universities across the UK. In addition to those mentioned above, destinations include King’s College London, the University of Liverpool, the University of Manchester, the University of Edinburgh, Liverpool John Moores University, Leeds Beckett University, Bangor University and many more.

Our learners’ excellent results have also enabled a number of them to pursue alternative routes, including apprenticeships and specialised training. We are delighted for Cecelia Robb, who has successfully secured a place at the highly selective and competitive Norland College, where she will train to become a prestigious Norland Nanny.

The school would also like to recognise the many learners whose determination, perseverance and personal progress have enabled them to exceed expectations. Every member of the Class of 2026 has contributed to another successful year for Upton-by-Chester High School, and the school wishes them every success for the future.
