Much to celebrate
This half term there has been much to celebrate. We were delighted to receive the recent Ofsted report which endorsed our 2015 inspection, ‘a good school with an outstanding sixth form.’
The inspectors had many positive things to say about our school and particularly about our students, who really did us proud!
May I also say thank you to the many parents and carers who completed the OfSTED Parentview questionnaire and for the emails of support which I received. The results show that parents/carers have an overwhelmingly positive view of our school, about which the Ofsted inspectors were highly complementary.
As we approach the start of the final half term for this academic year, we are now preparing to host a wide range of partner primary school taster sessions and activities, as well as, of course, our new intake events and Open Evening. I am delighted that we will be welcoming a full complement of 280 youngsters into our year 7 from September, and we also have students waiting eagerly to be given a place.
The latest edition of the Upton Voice contains so many articles about the wonderful achievements of our students, and of the opportunities they have seized. Well done to each and every one of them, and many thanks to our staff who go out of their way to make them happen.
I would like to wish all of our year 11 and 13 students the very best of luck with their exams; with continued perseverance, determination and effort I know they will succeed. I look forward to seeing them all on their results’ days in August.
Good luck also to years 7,8,9 and 10 as they prepare for the school exam season after the break.
With best wishes for a very peaceful and safe half term holiday.
