£250 donation for our Oxfam Youth Group after volunteering success

On 5th October some of our students volunteered to help with the Chester Marathon baggage collection.

On 5th October students from Upton High School volunteered to help with the Chester Marathon baggage collection. Students collected and returned over 5000 bags to runners from 7am until 3pm.

Active Leisure Events Limited has now kindly donated £250 to the school, which the Oxfam Youth Group has put into their campaign work to help even more people.

Elaine Hulse, of Active Leisure Events, said of the students, "Your team were great, thank you so much. The feedback we have had from the runners has been fantastic!"

Karen Smale, Head of PSRE, said "we are really proud of our students commitment to this community event. The students really enjoyed their volunteering work and are ready for their next challenge."
