Impressive grades achieved by Year 13

Our learners are today celebrating a great set of Post 16 results.

Following what has been a challenging year, they have achieved remarkable individual success and have demonstrated their resilience and commitment to learning through this fantastic set of results. Many learners are now getting ready to head off to university to follow their chosen path with others heading off into work or apprenticeship.

Lee Cummins, Headteacher, is delighted with the results of the Year 13 learners. He added, “The learners have achieved a great set of results across a range of A Level subjects and vocational qualifications. We are so proud of the achievements of every one of our young people. The impressive grades achieved have only been achieved through the hard work of each individual learner. The most important outcome from these results is that learners can fulfil their ambition and I am delighted that so many are able to move onto university or other routes based on their stunning performance.”

“The Sixth Form provision in the school continues to grow both in terms of learners joining the Sixth Form and in terms of the range of courses we offer. These results are testimony to the hard work of the learners and staff who have worked tirelessly to make them happen. We couldn’t do this without the great support we have received from parents, particularly so over the last two years, and I would like to thank them for making sure that every young person achieves at the highest level.”

Some of the exceptional performances include: Sam McAlavey, Alishba Awais, Emily Burke, Edward Knight all achieved 3 A*s in their chosen A Levels. Lisa Thompson, Katie Taylor, Phoebe Skinner, Heidi Herzog, Tom Clements, Alexander Antrobus, Joshua Price and Niahl Davey all achieved at least 2 A*s and 1 A in their results. This year 64% of grades achieved by our amazing learners were A*-B.

We recognise that every learner this year has achieved excellence. They have worked hard in a difficult set of circumstances and we wish them every success as they move to the next stage of their educational journey.
