Black History Month

In October we will be joining in with Black History Month, a dedicated time to celebrate the significant contributions of Black individuals throughout history.

Specifically, this year, the focus is on Black women with the theme, "Saluting Our Sisters." October is Black History Month each year. But sometimes, the stories of incredible Black women don't get the attention they truly deserve. This year the aim is to shine a spotlight on these stories. As you walk around the school, you'll notice posters and displays. Each one introduces a Black woman who has achieved something remarkable. These women come from various fields: literature, science, leadership, and sports, amongst others, and each has a story filled with inspiration.

There is also a national poetry competition running - further details and an application form can be obtained by clicking here: BHM Poetry Competition
