Headline Data
Here at Upton-by-Chester High School we look to celebrate all forms of achievement. One of the key measures of the school's success is the performance of learners in the end of Key Stage Four and end of Key Stage Five external examinations. In recent years, our learners have excelled in these external examinations.
Ofsted visited the school in February 2025.
They said that "Staff are determined that pupils will achieve highly. The vast majority do."
KS4 2026 Headline Data
Under the guidance of Head of Year Mr Wearden and Pastoral Support Manager Mrs McLeod, our Year 11 learners achieved some of the best results achieved in Upton-by-Chester's history.
The academic attainment, and progress, was across a broad range of subjects, from learners of all backgrounds.
78% of learners achieved standard passes (grade 4 and above) in English and Maths, with 52% achieving a strong GCSE (Grade 5 and above) in both English and Maths.
Our Average Attainment 8 Score (a measure of progress across a range of subjects) was 54.5, the highest we have achieved as a school.

KS5 2026 Headline Data
Success comes through maturity, sustained commitment and resilience.
Our Year 13 learners achieved some superb results; 30% of grades achieved were an A*-A or equivalent, 99% achieving A*-E .
