Examination Results

Headline Data

Here at Upton-by-Chester High School we look to celebrate all forms of achievement. One of the key measures of the school's success is the performance of learners in the end of Key Stage Four and end of Key Stage Five external examinations. In recent years, our learners have excelled in these external examinations.

KS4 2024 Headline Data

With Head of Year Mr Jones at the helm, Year 11 learners delivered our strongest set of results ever in terms of progress. Our expected Progress 8 score is +0.4 (on a par with last year), meaning across our cohort of 278 learners, learners achieved 0.4 grades better than similar learners in all schools across the country.

The academic attainment and progress was across a broad range of subjects, from learners of all backgrounds. Our learners should be proud of both their attainment and the progress they have made.

73.3% of learners achieved standard passes in English and Maths, with 56.6% achieving a strong GCSE in both English and Maths.

In Triple Science over 63.2% of learner grades were grade at 7 or above across all three disciplines.

80.6% of learners who undertook an English baccalaureate suite of subjects (English, Maths, Science, a Modern Foreign Language and a Humanity subject) achieved strong passes in those subjects.

KS5 2024 Headline Data

Our A Level results once again put us in the top 1% of sixth forms in our collaboration data which represents over 1300 schools across the country.

Of all our grades achieved 26% were A*-A, and 55% A*-B grades respectively, and once again the vast majority of learners were able to take up places at their first-choice destination.

We are incredibly proud of all our learners and wish them all the success in the future.
