Upton-by-Chester High School was inspected on 4th – 5th February 2025. This was an ungraded inspection following the school being judged Good with an outstanding Sixth Form in 2015 and again in 2019.

Recently alumni Penny Clarke returned to Upton to speak to Year 12 Geographers about her pathway after A Levels. Penny went through a comprehensive presentation detailing her journey to her current role as a Whale Scientist at the British Antarctic Survey, where she is working on her PhD studying cetacean mass strandings and ocean health from space.
